Gunnedah Shire Council required a new Positioning, Branding and
Marketing Strategy to align their many brands and deliver clear targeted
messaging across all channels to community, visitors, business people,
potential investors and those seeking to relocate.
The 2017 Federal Government’s $8.5b commitment to the construction of
the Inland Rail made the Parkes National Logistics Hub the most strategic
investment opportunity in Australia for transport operators, manufacturers
and warehousing industries. Parkes Shire Council called for tenders from
creative marketing agencies to deliver a tactical campaign to attract
business relocation or expansion to the region.
Twenty years ago Kent sat with a group of teens, many of whom were sporting hats and head scarves who told him of their journeys with cancer. The urgency for raising awareness and funding for Canteen was clear. Kent listened carefully and came up with a breakthrough idea. In his home screen printing studio, Kent created the first ever Canteen Bandanna. Canteen’s Bandanna Day – Kent’s initiative that is now 20 years strong and has raised in excess of $36 million.
From a meeting with Hunter New England Health CEO Katherine McGrath and Libby Rodgers-McPhee to discuss creating a brand and communication strategy to help unite a dispersed group of medical researches across the region, HMRI branding and positioning “Research for our future” was created. The branding and communication strategy was a key driver in building stakeholder and community support that today sees HMRI operating out of their $90 million building on the John Hunter Hospital site in Newcastle. Kent’s involvement across all communication elements in establishing the brand and then brand refresh has been essential to the success of HMRI over 25 years.
Being awarded the National repositioning and branding of Cancer Council Australia’s largest fundraising initiative with a positioning and call to action of “Who will you relay for?” saw a 24% increase in funds raised and 17% participation nationally. From this success KWCS was invited to create a National campaign to promote the Cancer Council Sun Protection product range.
